November 14th Cella cordial cherries. These are so good and can only be found at Christmastime.They are the kind with the clear liquid center, not that icky creamy stuff. Ashley bought a box at Winco and she shared it with me (did I mention that I'm also grateful for Ashley?).

November 13th My patriarchal blessing. Every time I read it I know that my Heavenly Father knows me personally and that He takes care of me.

November 12th Avocados. So yummy. They alway remind me of California.

November 11th Sea Turtles. Just look...how can you not love them?

Security Blankets

Today I'm thankful for cuddly, cozy blankets. When the weather turns colder I love to hunker down under three or four blankets. On my bed right now I have my BYU sweatshirt blanket from Karina, my plump down blanket from the Brauns, my quilty bedspread, my white silky blanket and an itchy 100% wool blanket that belonged to my great-grandmother. I'm all set!

Seek ye out of the best books

Like my new "Thanksgiving-y" blog layout? A bit abstract but it can definitely be construed as something autumnesque like a turkey or a pile of leaves, no?

November 5th Libraries, since moving to Oregon I've begun to take advantage of the library again. Washington County has an amazing library system, not to mention the used book sale going on now!
BYU has an incredible library and I honestly feel privileged to have had full access to it when I was a student. I loved the hugeness of it and the smell of old books that wafted over me every time I walked through the doors and they way the stairs up to the 4th floor were worn out from so many students' feet. One semester when I had a two hour break between classes, I went to the library almost every day to take a nap. And the library is one of the best places on campus to people watch.

Thanksgiving

It's November and time for Thanksgiving--30 days, 30 things for which I am thankful:

November 4th We went into Krispy Kreme yesterday and Christmas music was playing. It made me happy and excited for the holiday season. I don't even care that Christmas merchandise and advertising appear earlier every year. I love Christmas!
November 3rd Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Who would ever think a cookie made of squash could be so fantastic?
November 2nd DVRs, one of the 21st century's best inventions.
November 1st Mason so generously sharing his Halloween candy. He likes everything, so he doesn't care if the grown-ups eat all the Butterfingers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Peanut M&M's
